GADADHAR ABHYUDAYA PRAKALPA: GAP (Class I to IV):
It is observed that the people from the lowest strata of society – living in city slums and rural areas, and earning meager amounts by working as day labourers, sweepers, factory workers, housemaids, etc., can’t afford to provide basic necessities to their children, e.g., sufficient nutritive food items, enough clothes, study materials, guidance in school subjects, moral values, good culture, general health awareness, etc., and naturally, their children lack proper opportunities for an all-round development during their formative years, and in fact, many of them are found to have abnormal growth – mentally, physically or intellectually, due to the said deficiencies.
The GAP aims at holistic development (physical, mental and intellectual) of these poor children – selected after conducting door-to-door surveys, through the following activities.
This activity was started in 2014. Around 100 underprivileged Children of age group 5 to 12 years, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, gender, colour, etc. get free non formal education along with provisions of health kits, food and other facilities on a regular basis. It is funded by Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (KBUNL) – a subsidiary of NTPC.
