Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama is a branch of worldwide organization of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math , Howrah, West Bengal ,founded by Swami Vivekananda, has been rendering all sorts of services , especially in the field of health for the last 94 years and henceforth, free education to Poor Students, programme for Women Empowerment, Moral, Youth and Social Development been added . And we are happy to inform you that in 2026 this Sevashrama will complete its 100 years of journey of service to humanity in Muzaffarpur and nearby districts of Bihar.
We want to make it clear about Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama that It is a purely religious, charitable and non-profit organization , not an NGO and it run on the principle –“आत्मनो मोक्षार्थं जगत्द्धिताय च”- for the liberation of the self and for doing good to humanity laid down by Swami Vivekananda. Our focus is on extending quality healthcare to the oft-neglected economically weaker sections of the society.
At Vivekananda Netralaya Hospital, an extraordinarily dedicated team of Monks, Doctors, Consultants, Technicians, and Administrators work together to provide standard quality of medical services to our people of Bihar.

Medical professionals and workers have the unique scope of enriching their lives by elevating their metal planes of existence and thus of achieving their life’s real goal- fulfillment, peace and bliss , by directly serving man in the spirit of “शिवज्ञान से जीव सेवा” - Service to Man as Service to God.
Finally, I would like to conclude my message with a quotation from Swami Vivekananda’s saying – “I should see God in the poor, and it is for my salvation and for the welfare of mankind that I should go and serve them. In the poor and miserable I see God and by serving them we may serve the Lord, coming in the shape of the diseased, coming in the shape of the lunatic, the leper, and the sinner !”
